SAA Icebreaker Picnic

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to thank those that attended the SAA picnic. We hope every one had a good time and got the chance to get to know each other, or at least have a good start towards a beautiful friendship.

I also want to specifically thank Emily McMahan in leading out in getting the details together, and purchasing all the food needed to feed every one. Stefanie Natleson also helped Emily with the food so I'd like to thank her.

And lastly I'd like to thank Dean Bray for providing us with some financial support towards this picnic.

HLAA Walk-4-Hearing Kick off event

HLAA held a kick off event on August 8th. A third year student, Daniel Gibbons attended this event and said he had a great time, he brought back posters and brochures to share with the students at school. Thank you for attending the event Daniel!

HLAA states that there are three main reasons to hold a kickoff event before a walkathon which are listed below.

  1. To gather as many confirmed and likely potential supporters of the walk together at one time to get them excited about the Walk and motivated to support it.
  2. To give these supporters some basic training on how to use the materials they will receive at the kickoff to organize a team of walkers to participate in the walk and to raise money for the walk.
  3. To distribute the walk materials (primarily a walk team captain instruction folder, walk posters and walker money collection envelopes) to the volunteers in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
The Salus Group is being created, we will keep you updated once we have it up.
